All of our physicians at Tucson Heart Group are Board Certified.
James L. Evans, M.D., F.A.C.C.
A physician who is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiology, Dr.
Evans received his M.D. from Ohio State Medical School, and later completed internal
medicine training at Temple University and his cardiology fellowship training at
Northwestern University in Chicago. he currently specializes in diagnosis of coronary
artery disease and treatment with multi-vessel angioplasty.
Lionel Faitelson, M.D., F.A.C.C.
After receiving his M.D. (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, he completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Boston University Hospital, and in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Baylor College of Medicine. Now part of Tucson Heart Group, Dr. Faitelson utilizes several new techniques and devices for the control of atrial and ventricular heart rhythm problems, such as catheter ablation and implantable pacemakers and defibrillators.
Basel Skeif, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Skeif completed postgraduate training in cardiology and interventional cardiology
at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore, New York. His professional carrer
includes the titles of Chief Resident at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi,
New York and Medical Director of the Heart Failure Division at Jersey Shore University
Medical Center, New Jersey. Dr. Skeif has performed research in heart failure, acute
coronary syndrome, and interventional cardiology which resulted in publication in
major cardiology journals.
Samir Dahdal, MD FACC
Dr. Dahdal is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. He completed his cardiovascular training at Albany Medical Center in 2004 where he served as Chief Resident. He moved to Tucson with his family in 2006. He led the Outreach and Cardio Oncology clinical program at the University Medical Center until he joined Tucson Heart Group in October 2016. Dr. Dahdal has a strong interest in primary cardiac prevention and long term follow up care of cancer patients with chemotherapy induced cardiotoxicity.
Constantin Catalin Boiangiu, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Boiangiu graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest,
Romania, where he completed postgraduate training and served as an Assistant
Professor of Medicine before moving to the United States. He completed his general
and interventional cardiology training at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New
Jersey where he was appointed Chief Cardiology Fellow. He holds Board Certification in
Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. His academic interests resulted in several
research publications in major cardiology journals, and cardiology textbook co-
authoring. He specializes in percutaneous coronary and peripheral vascular
interventions and has a special interest in preventative cardiology.
